Firefox problem - table.setURL("filelocation") doesn't work

When I do table1.setURL("file path") for a file in a local folder, the file gets loaded in both IE and Firefox, but when I have to make a call to a server, table1.setURL("file path") works only in IE and not in Firefox. Does anybody know how to make this work in Firefox?
